Global Promise
Global Promise, a West Yorkshire social enterprise, is participating in an affiliate programme which is supported by national and local retailers, to raise money for local projects that will connect dis-enfranchised young people and provide them with a positive way forward for their future. Please visit this programme at http://GlobalPromise.XmasPresents.net
What this means for all of us is that we can raise money for a good cause without doing a single sponsored walk, run, swim or jump out of a plane. While for Global Promise, this will mean vital funding from retailers for their latest ‘connecting young people with enterprise’ programme. Global Promise has already piloted a number of very successful and highly creative initiatives between schools in dis-advantaged and deprived areas and major organisations in the regions, such The Adventure Network, Global Synergy Solutions, ITV Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Police, and Yorkshire Water.
Global Promise will also be launching its own Affiliate Programme in the New Year. Selected retailers have already agreed to participate in a pilot whereby supporters of schools and charitable organisations can use a dedicated infrastructure at Global Promise to raise funds for their school or good cause by shopping online from a dedicated website created for the school they support or their charitable organisation using Infrastructure provided by Global Promise. The selected retailers will pay a commission to the Supporter's supported school or charitable organisation on all purchases made through the dedicated web site. The provision of such an infrastructure by Global Promise to help raise raise funds for a range of good causes in a partnership with the Business Community will be entirely in keeping with the Global Promise vision of ‘Businesses Changing our World’.

Upbeat
Upbeat, which is part of Bramley Elderley Action, has been running mobility aid parties. Similar to Tupperware parties which were fashionable in the 1980’s people have been getting together to try different products to make their lives easier. This has proved a very popular activity, in addition to it providing a social opportunity the parties were developed following concerns about individuals been targeted by “pushy” salesman.
