Infrastructure and Performance Competitions 2007

The Performance Hub is launching two new competitions offering a chance for infrastructure organisations to win up to £8,000 for their work helping frontline organisations with performance improvement.

1) Supporting Performance competition

The Supporting Performance competition is aiming to find the five most successful approaches to performance support in England. We're looking for activities that are already happening, are showing signs of success in helping third sector organisations to improve their performance, and have high potential to be replicated by other infrastructure organisations to adopt with their own members and users. We're looking for projects which provide support in one of these topic areas: quality, strategy, changing funder attitudes and practices to performance, monitoring and evaluation or benchmarking.

2) Try It competition

Our related Try It competition is for infrastructure organisations that wish to try out one of the winning approaches or another innovative idea.

If you're looking for inspiration or an opportunity to try out something new, why not apply?

How to enter the competitions:

Young Persons Enterprise Forum Launches Community Challenge

The Enterprise Challenge has been put together by the Young People’s Enterprise Forum with its partners:

• Yorkshire Forward

• Recycling Action Yorkshire

• Museums, Libraries and Archives Yorkshire

• The Yorkshire and Humber Education for sustainable Development Forum

• Community Waste Network Yorkshire and the Humber.

They are keen to get young people more involved in creating sustainable communities while developing skills in enterprise and business development.

They are challenging young people in schools or community groups to come up with an enterprising new idea that will improve the area where they live. The ideas will go through a selection process and the ones that stand out will be chosen to receive support from local organisations and experts to make their project happen.

This will involve help with business planning, finding sources of funding and making contacts to get their idea off the ground. This is a year-long programme that will end with a celebration event in November 2007 in which the successful projects will be invited to inspire the next group of young entrepreneurs.

For further details please go to the YPEF website
